Here is something that should never be forgotten. It should never be forgotten that an official Port St. John organization that was purported to have as its stated goals to work for the good of the people in Port St. John. In reading the notes and transcripts from the PSJ Home Owners' Association meetings -- some of them verbatim -- I don't think that anyone who lives in PSJ, or who wishes to live here -- should ever forget that there are people within Port St. John who will treat others this way because we have differing political views and opposing opinions on things. It is my goal in keeping this information available to remind people that it wasn't a fluke that the PSJHOA acted as it did; it was an orchestrated effort by the few to control and "speak for" the many -- even if the many never asked the few do so. That's communism, folks; pure, plain and simple communism. What happened within that organization should never have happened in PSJ, much less in America. Tyrants and despots should be overthrown every time they get into power and the PSJHOA was no exception. The PSJHOA closed down as of April 10, 2005 because its leaders decided that it would be better to shut it down than to let "people like" me get in control of it. It's not as though I wanted control of it: I didn't. I wanted them out of control of it, not me in. I had already been Vice President for a while and didn't need the added stress, work and frustration. I wanted the organization to be open, operating in the Sunshine and honest in its dealings with everyone at all times. It wasn't that and, apparently, the leadership didn't want it to become that. So they shut it down. As my favorite saying goes, "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." If we forget what the PSJHOA was, when we see it happening again we will not be able to recognize the full dangers of the path it's headed down until it may be too late. Tyrannical leaders in charge of anything is not good. Organizations should die before tyrants are allowed control. And that's true of anything. |
